Sun Jun 7 : AMT Day 9 [ride] Barcelona → Perpignan (6h30m, 288 km)

Another fine breakfast at AC Victoria, then the usual briefing and we are off.

At our morning fuel stop, we ran into a group of Gold Wing touring couples from Turkey. Their bikes were extremely farkled up. One had motorized training wheels that drop down with the push of a button to hold the bike upright. Sort of like a powered center stand with wheels on it.

Then, on the highway, traffic came to a halt for a half hour while we waited for an accident to be cleared. Nobody filtered up to the front, despite being Spain. Hmmm.

At our morning coffee stop, we met a group of trike choppers. Seems like everyone is out on their special machines on this fine Sunday morning.

Then lunch at Cal Sordet where we had beef steak.

Over a few passes with awesome pastoral scenery, across the border back into France, and into pine forests, and across col d'ares, into Perpignan.

There we checked into Hôtel Dali and went to dinner at Restaurant Le Sud where we ate beautiful and tastey "Mexican" food. At least the decorations were Mexico-themed. If not what I think of when I remember Mexican food.

Kathi stayed in to rest while Chris went out for a walk around the city at night. He ran across some of the tour group out drinking in a bar downtown.
