Fri Jun 5 : AMT Day 7 [ride] Andorra → Barcelona (Eastern route 3h45m 225km)
The elevator was broken when Chris got up early. The hotel staff member who might have gotten it fixed was stuck in elevator, so it took a while...
The Andorra hotel Roc Blanc had really amazing food --- best breakfast of the trip.
It was a little hard to find the breakfast restaurant. When we did, there was a super variety of food well beyond the typical range. Goat cheese, brie, several types of sausages, grilled veggies, fresh fruit, slices of melons, etc.
We could have sat for an hour enjoying breakfast, but it was time to meet the group. The rich people in Andorra eat well!

The morning coffee stop was in a small town that looked small and dead, but then the buildings near the coffee shop were really nice stonework and they had decaf for Kathi.

We visited the Parc Cultural de la Muntanya de Sal (Salt Mine) but the salt mine tour was going to take 45 minutes to wait for a 1hr tour, so we skipped the tour.
The engineers in the group all tried hard to understand the big steel structure. Turns out it's for lifting equipment out of the 4300 foot deep mine shaft.

Our restaurant stop for lunch was really nice. Local sausage was suprisingly tastey.

While stopped at the side of the road to view Mont Serat, Andrey had a bit of misfortune. His kickstand didn't lean the bike enough, and while getting off, it tipped over against the stone wall and scratched up the windshield. Andrey posted a video of How Not To Park Your Bike.

Our room at Hotel AC Victoria Suites in Barcelona was really amazing. Best room of the tour. Seems like we got a special room. Much easier to explode our stuff. It had a closet, room for shoes, etc. Super nice for two days.
After unpacking, we walked to dinner. I had a big steak on a hot rock. Kathi had Botifarra sausage made with pork, salt and pepper. Kathi had some confusion asking the waitress about raw vs cooked "is the sausage cooked?". In that confusion, Kathi accidentally got an extra sausage.

On the way back we encountered some kids selling jewlrey, sort of like a lemonaid stand. The kids were really cute and so surprised they had a customer. Kathi bought a bracelet for €2, and the kids made a big deal of making change for €5.
Finally, we stopped for ice-cream. Kathi got pistaccio called Festuc and chocolate brownie.

The morning was cool but clear and beautiful. The roads were perfect. It was a great day.
