Up early to catch a ferry from Menaggio to Varenna, then started riding south along the lake. We stopped at a cafe for a Roma style roast beef pizza(?) and coffee. It was a very tastey breakfast at La Porta Verde while we relaxed at the edge of the lake and watched people swimming.

After breakfast, we made our way south to Lecco where we parked and walked the waterfront parks for an hour or so before heading off to Bergamo.

At Bergamo, we rode into Cita Alta and found our B&B Palazzo Porta Picta. What a fabulous place! Greatly exceeded our expectations. Chris left Kathi to enjoy the hotel while he rode the scooter back down into lower Bergamo to find a shop (Centro Revisioni Bergamo) to perform his revisione (bi-annual safety inspection). That process went smoothly and 79 euros later, left with a sticker on his paperwork. Back to Cita Alta through 5:30pm traffic.

We went for dinner at a fameous Ravioli house called Casoncelli Nona Alda which does takeout only. They have an impressive set of testimonial notes on their walls in many languages from visitors from all over the world. We ate in the plazza behind the restaurant while little kids played all around us. Then we walked around Cita Alta to watch the sunset from the Fort City Walls.
