Morning at the Agritorismo was a really nice breakfast, met some pretty dogs, and then headed out down the steep, cobblestone road. Kathi was pretty nervous, but getting more used to riding on the back. We made our way into Como and tried to find a shop to do the revisione, but without success. We did find a shop, but they didn't have time for us without an appointment. This made me look for an appointment in Bergamo which wasn't too difficult. Though they did want us to call for an appointment and our Italian isn't good enough for the phone. Fortunately, we were able to explain on WhatsApp and they called us with enough broken English to establish a 5pm appoitment tomorrow in Bergamo.
We went down to the city center, lakeside area, parked the scooter (illegally, oops), and walked around for a few hours.
We stopped in one of those Iris art stores and met Rebecca who did a real nice sales job. We bought an iris picture that merges Chris and Kathi's eyes with some hearts. Late Valentine's Day present(!)
Then we got gelatos and back to the bike to find a parking ticket. Tried to pay the ticket online to get the prompt payment discount, but the Como payment website is borked and failes with three credit cards, Google Pay, and PayPal. Frustrating!
After leaving Como, we stopped at xxxx on the way to Mennaggio where we had a buckwheat and kale pasta, caprese salad, and an interesting cookie desert.
Our house/apartment in the hills above Menaggio was really nice with a great view.
We walked down to an ice-cream shop to have a fruit sunday and watched some guys playing a hybrid of pickle ball and handball on a court with 9 glass panels on the back wall and rear side walls. Interesting version of the game that fits in a smaller space.
We see these irisgalerie stores all over europe. This time we decided to check it out and the sales-girl Rebecca did a great soft sell, simply showing off the images and sharing lots of technical details. Super interesting. We ended up buying an unframed, glass picture to hang near our puffins picture from Iceland in the movie room.
