Chris got up early to get some coffee, then walk to Mototouring to see about the Scooter-won't-start issue. Turns out the scooter had become disassociated from the wireless key. It wasn't the battery, wiring, fuses, etc., it was a misunderstanding. But HondaPoint was closed until 2pm, so we went out for lunch. Found the same place Chris went to a couple of years ago, but it had been replaced by a new, much better place run by two brothers from Napoli by way of 10 years in Boston. What a treat! Almost worth having the scooter down for a day. Anyway, back at HondaPoint, they reprogrammed the bike to accept the key, a dance of pushing the power button on the scooter in a pattern to enter a 9 digit number from the bike key. Back at Mototouring, we met the junkyard dog, and repacked our stuff into a tiny volume on the scooter. I'm so proud of Kathi's ability to run light for a few days. Total trouper!
Then, off to Agritourismo Cascina Mirandola in the hills near Como. Cool place. Nice room, great restaurant, and interesting grounds with a lot of animals. Especially fun was a litter of baby kittens under the chicken run.
Amazing dinner with a fun waiter (round old guy with a jolly personality) an awesome risotto and delicious 9-hr roasted chicken with rosemary potatoes.
Because HondaPoint is closed and doesn't repopen until 2pm, we walked back into town to find some lunch. Chris tried to find a place he had been to before. Turns out he did find the place, but the restaurant had changed to O' Zio n'copp a' Martesana. And for the better! It was fantastic Napoli pizza made by two brothers.
