I walked to Milano Centrale, and bought the last 2 tickets to Torino! The Luck of Chris again. I'm really glad I got up early to buy tickets. Then I started scouting for food. Milano Centrale has a market with several good food places. I bought some excellent bread from the bakery there, then went looking for a grocery store and an ATM. The Banca Valsabbina Milano 80 bank ATM was still locked away at 7:30am. At UniCredit ATM, it wanted to charge me a currency conversion fee, even after I converted some USD to Euro in my Wise account. I walked back to the room and stopped for a coffee at the shop downstairs (La rosa dei venti). After a couple of Latte Macchiattos, I walked to Carrefour Express and bought more chocolate, berries, bean salad, and cheese. Then back to the room as it had started raining. I read until Kathi got up at 9:30am. We checked out at 11:00, walked to Centrale, and waiteed for our train which arrived about 15min late. I crashed hard asleep on the train.

In Torino at Porto de Nova, there was heavy rain. We waited out front for 15 minutes to catch Bus 61 our apartment. In heavy rain, we ran across the street to hide out in Gran Bar while we connected with our host. Check in was delayed as the host wasn't monitoring their phone, but eventually we did check in and the apartment is excellent. Weather improved inviting us to walk into town. We tried to get dinner at Bontà da Re but it was closed. We got groceries across the street at Pam Local (decaf lavazza, milk, hummus bio Mediterraneaneo, soups, olive dal) then back to the apartment. After snacking a bit, we went back out for dinner at Raviolhouse Torino which was really good. Back home and dead asleep at 9:30.

Morning explorations, Train Tix, ATM, Groceries, and Coffee

I woke up early like 6:30am. My Fitbit said I got 2.5hrs of sleep in 5 hrs, but I think I slept much better than that.

Walking to Milano Centrali and Train to Torino

It was POURING rain outside the station when we arrived in Torino. We waited under the front portico for our bus which was jammed full of people getting around in the downpour. The rain lightened a bit during our ride, so it wasn't too bad running 1 block from the bus-stop to a nearby bar to wait for check-in.
