My flight out was very early, so I attempted to drop my bags and check in for my flight the night before. I live quite close to PDX, so it was
easy to attempt this. I stood in line for a while, checked in, but then the agent realized the flight was more than 6 hours away and he couldn't take
my bags. But, they were already tagged and I had my boarding passes, so the next morning was just a bag drop with no document checking. It worked out well.
The TSA line was long, even with TSA Precheck. I was at my gate more than an hour before boarding, so plenty of time to relax. The flights were nice, I had
good seats, all was well. When I got to JFK, I had a short walk to my connection with plenty of time. When I got there, the boarding area was empty. Turns out
they were boarding more than an hour before departure. I got on board (in retrospect) too early and sat for about 2 hours before we actually started moving.
The departure was an hour late AND we had to do deicing before departure. But the winds were favorable so we landed in Accra only about half an hour behind schedule.
Food on these Delta flights was good. I slept pretty well and arrived excited and alert and not too hungry.
