I walked the St. Hubert street fair down to Beau Bien station, then took the metro to the bus to ENC. I talked with the guy at the front desk for a while, then waited in the cafeteria for Nicole to finish physio. We walked back and she saw several friends on the way. I met Eivand "Ivan" (her best friend as far as I can tell) and two other people passing on the street (don't remember names). These are brief "hey how ya doin?" stops. Nicky says this is her social life, brief moments all over the place but not a lot more interesting than that. She plays Magic (a complex card game) with Ivan and a few other folks in the evenings.
We got back to her apartment, then went out to the street market. Wow! What an awesome farmer's market. We bought garlic flowers, tiny potatos, kale, basil, weird onions, wax beans, blue berries, black berries, goose berries, straw berries, and lychees. Back home, dropped the food, picked up the tools, and headed to the place where Ivan used to live and where the motorcycle is stranded in the back yard.
The metro was failed, so we walked, essentially all the way back to ENC. We worked on the bike for an hour or so finding the clutch master cylinder full of gunk. We needed a special tool to remove a snap ring, so we walked to Canadian Tire and shopped for a while. Bought a big pot to make soup. Then back home --- metro working OK now.
I worked on the cylinder (we took it off and brought it with us) while Nicky cooked the vegetable soup. The soup was very tasty with lots of garlic and the tiny potatoes were really good. About 1--2 cm in diameter. I got the snap ring out, cleaned the cylinder, rebuilt it. Then we ate and it was 10:30pm so we did not go back to the bike. We talked for a bit more, then went to bed at 11:00pm.
