Fri Sep 15, 2017, Recovering the FJR1300 from Cody WY

Weather

I woke to low clouds and snow about 1000ft above my elevation in Cody.
It did't look good for going back over Yosemite. Roads weren't open in the morning, so I proceeded north to I-90.

New tires in Cody

I had new tires shipped to Todd's place and they were waiting for me. Early Friday morning, I took the bike to Cody Cycles and had new tires mounted. I also bought some overpants which probably saved my life from the freezing rain I would encounter much of the day. This got me off to a kind of late start departing from Cody, so I didn't make it very far. Also, it was snowing pretty hard in Bozeman and Butte by the time I got there. In fact, I would really hit the worst of the snow the next morning on the pass out of Butte.

Lunch in Bridger

Dinner in Bozeman
