The Bikes

I rented a nearly-new BMW R1200RT from CIMT (Central Italy Motorcycle Tours) in Milan. This was a very good bike for this trip. The heated hand-grips and excellent wind protection helped in the rain and the cruise control was great for the highway slog across France from Le Havre to Basil Switzerland.

Nicky got a BMW F800R from CIMT in Florence for 2 days. It was a great bike for her. Low seat, light weight, but with good luggage capacity.

The route was reconstructed using GPS tags dug out of the photos.

Overview

Nicky was working for C!RCA based in Brisbane Australia. Her shows were traveling through Europe with stops in Italy and France. I found a place to rent a motorcycle in Milan, got some cheap tickets, and went to see the show.
