So, the xxx highway crosses Latvia east-west, straight as an arrow. I kept looking at side routes like this one where Google Maps says "8 minutes longer". Sure, that sounds interesting. I turn off and within 100m the pavement goes away. The unpaved is reasonably smooth but the rain makes it slippery and there's a bit of washboarding in places which bounces the shit out of my Carpuride and baggage.
Phone is charged, I'm kind of dried out and warm. Time to get back on the bike.
After xxx km of unpaved, I finally made it back to xxx. I stopped at the first road-house for lunch.
