Stopped at a shop for pastries and coffee at Messina Pasticceria Gelateria Bar on Lago di Ganzirri.
We stopped at a harbor where some construction was moving sand. Not sure why. Found a porta potty, clean and it good working order. Relief! Public restrooms can be hard to find.
Went to Capo D’Orlando and found a mud slide mostly covering the road. There was a scripted sign before we entered the area, but it was long and we couldn't read it. A motorcycle could make it through, but the one motorcycle we saw approached, then turned around. Chicken.
Toll road to Cefalù. Parked in a large parking lot for 5euros across from the beach. Walked the boardwalk area then up the hill to our restaurant - Ristorante La Siciliana di Cefalù.
Kathi had grilled swordfish, spinach, and zuppo verdura e legumi. Chris had a salad w/anchovies, capers, olives, tomatoes, and crispy toasts.
Walked back to the beach where Chris walked in the sand. Got our car and then drove to Palermo. We chose the toll road, got our ticket and then the toll road ended. At the toll booth it wouldn't take our ticket. We couldn't understand the attendant over the speaker so he just charged us .90 euros and raised the gate. Never did need the ticket again.
We had a bit of trouble finding our host. But he found us a parking spot while we were trying to locate him.
After hearing about things to do in the area we walked back to the car to clean it out for the next day's drop off at the airport.
The night air was perfect for walking around, but at 9:30pm Kathi
wanted to get ready for the next day's activities and have some time
to spend on Italian. She has been needing to get ready to take the
tests for classes (and her immersion tour in a few weeks).
