Monday, fly from Malta to Catania, Sicily

We checked out of Mullberries, drove to the airport, returned the car, and were too early to check in for our 15:30 flight to Catania. With lots of time to spare, we bought a cookbook, got some coffee, and sat at a low table and talked with Ben & Martha from No. Carolina. He was a SW pilot, she was retired and spent her time organizing their next trip.

Went to check in 2 hrs ahead of 3:30 flight and found out that our booked flight had been 5:15am. Chris fucked up the flight purchase, perhaps as part of the struggles with buying Ryan Air tickets. I went to the KM Malta desk and got a ticket for 9:30pm then waited to board that flight. Over 10 hours in the airport today, uggh!

We sat at another table until we decided to look for a meal. Kathi chose Dr. Juice, which made a great chicken and many veggie/quinoa salad. Chris had another Krepree savory crepe.

In the food/waiting area Chris talked with a family from Accra boarding a flight to Bern Switzerland.

We dropped off our bags and went through security about two hrs ahead. In the waiting area we sat near a baby grand piano that various young people took turns playing.

The flight was teaming with youngsters. We had exit row seats. It was quick - 35 minutes. We had to wait for our bags for a bit.

We were picked up by our host, Carmelo and taken to an Irish Pub Mr Hyde Pub owned by a friend of his where we had ginger beers and a pesto pasta that was very good. He had a beer and followed it with a shot of rum and OJ.

We got home a bit before 1am. Chris was asleep right away. Kathi need to set up for the night.
