Kathi wanted to go for a local walk so we started by walking to the coast and along the cliffs to downtown staying along the water's edge as we could. We walked all the way to the point on Munxar path getting gelatos at sottozero first and then going to Tal Familja for an awesome dinner after. We went into the restaurant as they opened at 7pm, but well before the first customers started dribbling in at 7:45. For about a half hour we talked with the proprietress. We were first served two bean dishes and Maltese bread rolls. One bean dip with waterbread crackers used broad beans. Another was just butter beans dressed in olive oil and garlic. Then we started with Maltese fish soup, and clams. Our mains were stuffed calamari and a mix of fish.
We walked back to work off the pistachio fondant that was a
specialty of theirs.
3rd day in Malta
There are several other series of historical defensive towers on Malta.
The restaurant has lots of awards and there was a picture of some fameous person who had stopped by. Looked familiar but I couldn't figure it out. Google Lens to the rescue. Google recognized him as Robert Plant from Led Zepplin.
