Day 8, Saturday Feb 2, Flying back from Guadalajara

That's The Grand Canyon out there and we are over Kingman Airport in Nevada.

That's Nellis AFB about 10 miles away. The big oval is the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Creech Air Force Base to the left and a couple of prisons.


Landing approach to PDX

We did a very wide, circling approach. We crossed over the West side of the airport, then turned downwind about 30 miles, then over Camas turned base maybe 5 miles, then a very long straight in approach. The whole approach took maybe an extra 10 minutes. I tried to record a GPS path and take lots of pictures, but none of the locations came through.













Cutest kid ever in the line for customs and immigration. He's 10 months old, and he smiles at me a lot, so I think he's awesome!

Time from touch down to exiting the airplane was 25 minutes.
Time from touch down to exiting immigration checks was 80 minutes.
Then Kathi picked me up about 20 minutes later. Home.
