I woke to low clouds and snow about 1000ft above my elevation in Cody. I had new tires shipped to Todd's place and they were waiting for me. Early Friday morning, I took the bike to Cody Cycles and had new tires mounted.
I also bought some overpants which probably saved my life from the freezing rain I would encounter much of the day. This got me off to a kind of late start departing from Cody,
so I didn't make it very far. Also, it was snowing pretty hard in Bozeman and Butte by the time I got there. In fact, I would really hit the worst of the snow the next morning on the pass out of Butte.
It did't look good for going back over Yosemite. Roads weren't open in the morning, so I proceeded north to I-90.
