Walked to the Il
Museo di Storia Naturale a Firenze (The
Natural History Museum of the University of Florence) established 1775.
The museum is located in palazzo Torrigiani on Via Romana.
Fantastic place with wax anatomy figures, tonnes and tonnes of taxidermy.
Incredible place, especially the Zoologia section "La Specola" —
A major collection of some 3 million zoological specimens, of which
about 5,000 are on public display.
Interesting art as well mixed in with the science stuff.
One of the best museums in the world. I really liked it.
After the museum closed at 5pm, we walked to the Michalenglo
square at Piazzale Michelangelo where they have a bronze copy of David.
The Giardino dell'Iris (Iris Gardens) closed at 6pm, we arrived at 5:50, so no entry. But the views were really nice and the weather was perfect.
The Iris Garden open until 6pm and we arrived at 5:50pm, so sadly no entry today.
What a day. That museum was really something unexpectedly amazing!
