We got up early, out at 5am, went to MacDonalds for coffee and egg sandwiches before riding 20 minutes across town to the start hotel.
From there, we hit all the bonuses this day, including one about 3 miles down a good dirt road. At the end of that road was a hot springs resort that was angry that 200 scooters were showing up super early in the morning --- we were there at 7:50am but others were probably there as early as 6am. The would not let us in to get the bonus photo, but the Scooter Cannonball scorekeepers were sympathetic and accepted our pictures from outside the resort.
We rode in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Utah again, then Colorado.
It was a day of spectacular views and lots of wild-life --- we saw several big-horn sheep. Sheep Creek Canyon Geological Area was especially nice.
Another highlight, the ending bonus in Colorado National Monument was particularly spectacular. Don't miss Rimrock Drive if you get to Grand Junction CO.
