Traffic stopped for a parade

Riding the fameous B 500 road through Germany's Black Forest region.

Today we rode a pretty nice road B 500. It was nice but I think over-hyped. Just one of the many, many good motorcycling roads in Europe. The countryside is dotted with pretty villages, but so is everywhere I've been in Europe. Maybe my mood was dampened by the little bit of rain we had today.

Black Forest Cuckoo Clock Town, Furtwangen and Triberg

The town of Furtwangen has been the center of the Black Forest Clock area for a long time. Today its many clock stores and clock museum have gained a world-wide reputation. The by far largest collection of old German clocks has its origin in the clock-makers´school that was established here in the 19th century.

World's biggest Cuckoo Clock

Mummelsee lake stop for food

This is a pretty little lake in the mountains with miles of hiking trails around it.
Would have been nice to take off the riding gear and do some walking around, but we weren't sure how much time we had.
So, instead we bought some bread and sausages to snack on by the lake.

Schloss Eberstein

Schloss Eberstein AKA Neueberstein is a castle first built in 1272 and now converted into a 4-star hotel and Michelin starred restaurant. We sleep in a bonafide castle tonight! How cool is that?
