Arrival in Vienna
Our first flight was a little bit late from Newark to Dublin then we
had about an hour and went from Dublin to Vienna getting in at about
10:00 a.m. We were a bit hungry so as we were passing a restaurant on
the way to get our bags we got a cheese strudel and large pretzel.
Our bags took a long time to get and getting an Uber took a while
so we finally ended up at the Hotel Beethoven Wein around 11:30 and fortunately we were
able to check in immediately.

Late lunch / early dinner at Gumpendorfer Stube
We lounged around for a bit and rested up then went to restaurant
Gumpendorfer Stube before they closed at 2:00 p.m. Kathi had potato
and stone mushroom soup, and an egg dumpling dish. Chris had Hungarian
goulash soup and beef with roasted potatoes. We celebrated his
birthday with apple strudel and vanilla ice cream. We walked back to
the hotel very full.

The march proceeds smoothly and in a highly organized fashion across the interesection while the police ride up to the next one.
Who knew that social unrest could be so polite and organized?

After resting and napping Chris decided to take off to find a grocery
store and get a few items. Later we
decided to wander around and see a little bit of Vienna. The weather
was very nice for the evening.
Back to our hotel at 9:30pm. Maybe the jet lag won't be so bad.
