It rained hard last night and it's still raining this morning. So far it's looking like a break day.

An hour later, the rain is lightening up. I think I'll plan an abbreviated loop to the west where it looks like the rain will stop first.

Killing some time by walking down into Malcesine old town for breakfast

The water is angry about all the wind

but the weather does look promising on the other side of the lake

some kind of archeological preservation of historic alpine accomodations

Mountain lake in the Ledro valley

the weather sure did clear up nicely over here

I have another favorite road, sp9 between Crone and Gargnano

in line for the ferry back across the lake towards Malcesine

looks like the rain is coming back. I'm getting out just in time.

Waiting for the ferry in Maderno.

here's my boat. It's small.

running away from the rain

From the middle of Lago di Garda

Olives on the orchard trees near my AirBnB

Dinner was particularly good tonight at Mignon (I think, not absolutely sure about this one)

Lasagne, special of the day

was good...

Grappa --- the waiter was surprised when I asked him what Grappa is. He said I probably wouldn't like it, but I'm curious.

It's interesting. Lemon, bilberry, and hazelnut. Very strong (120 proof) brandy with a little methanol (poison).

I'm having a little trouble finding my way out of old town. All these narrow "streets" and my grappa brain...

The old downtown of Malcesine is a very cute maze of tiny streets about 3 meters wide width outdoor seating, restaurants everywhere. I'm the shops are open late on Saturday night.

peaking into the church downtown. The church is pretty but not very popular.
