Day 7, Saturday Feb 1, Comala back to Chapala with a stop in Sayula

After a nice breakfast at Casa Pascual, we headed back towards Chapala / Ajijic. On the way, we stopped at the Ojeda knife factory in Sayula and I bought a couple of fancy kitchen knives. Supposedly this family has been making knives here continuously for 300 years! Excellent prices too.

Looking up the hill towards Volcan de Colima in the morning before breakfast.

Breakfast at Casa Pascual

A brief stop waiting for Dave and Terry to catch up. Jerry was quite fast today.

Knife maker Ojeda

Some knives in the display case at the factory outlet store.

I bought this engraved and crusted chef's knife for 3750 pesos or about $200 USD.

This laser cutting machine is used to make all their knife blanks.
It's a model LZ1309-Z-100, perhaps similar to this one sold by Asia Robotica in Jalisco. However I'm surprised they can cut steel blanks using an only-100W CO2 laser.

We also checked out this fancy hotel in Sayula. I think it might be La Casa De Lost Patios.

Back at SR Suites at the end of the trip. Terry and I rode two bikes to Terry's house and then to the Ride The Sierra shop while Jerry followed in his van to help with logistics. Then we took Jerry's van back to the hotel and I rode the 1150R back to Ajijic where we had dinner with Loretta and Kanwar at St. Remy.
